Crewativity of Rabindranath, (1875-1876)

Rajnarayan Basu took up the responsibility of propagating Barahmmo Religion giving up hi profession as a teacher. He was one of the admirer of Rabindranath's poetic talent. But Rabindranath didnot like the list of English poets submitted by Rajnarayan. He didnot like Mark Akenside topping the list.
His preference of studying English poets was expressed in Malati Punthi. He preferred Irish Melodies of Thomas Moore and Child Harold's Pilgrimage of Byron. Rabindranath translated many stanzas of Irish Melodies.
A stanza of original work of Irish Melodies and Rabindranath's translation is as follows,
"As slow our ship her foamy track
Against the wind was cleaving,
her trembling  pennant stilllook'd back
To that dear Isle'twas leaving"
translation is (written in English Alphabets)
"Pratikul Bayubhare Urmmimay Sindhupare
Tarikhani jetyechila Dhiri
Kampaman Ketu Tar , chechila katabar
Se dwiper pane phiri phiri."
